Fifty Is The New Thirty La De Da

Greetings from the East.  I want to s ay Hi to u Wendy and Lisa.  U sexy ladies r awe some  yeah

We r the same age  give or take a few years. Im 51. Being fifty is cool. I still have the heart of

a lioness.

Im over here as im typing ths trippin on some of your earlier stuff. I really like Honeymoon Express.

The year u released that I was on tour with a group called Surface. Remember Shower me with your love

and we went no 1 on billboard with a ballad called The First Time. I mention this because back then as

u ladies know there werent many female keyboardists on the road> I went by the name of Nikki London>

I was the first female to work at Sam Ash Music in the early 80's> The famous Manhattan store> Back then Patrice Rushen was out there paveing the way> You ladies were the first> I came to u r concerts in NYC> I would have given anything to have had the gig with Prince but I was playing and selling equipment to all u famous folks when u came into the city, Thats how I got several auditions and ended up with Surface and Atlantic Starr We did Japan with Sheena Easton too. That was alot of fun, Back then there were mostly guys on the road except the background singers. I was the only female keyboardist on the road at that time in 89 90. We were all pioneers with that one. I could tell u the road stories on the tour bus. Being the only female in the group was interesting. I was tested alot but could swear drink and play with the best of them, I held my own back then. The guys respected me> I sold alot of equipment to mostt of them so they all knew i knew my stuff. We were on tour for a year and a half. wow i was out of touch with the real world. Flew home as often as i could between shows> Did Leno and Pat Sajack had his show and Arsenio. Everybody did Arsenio> The album went Platinum when we were out. The Band was awsome. We were all on the same page.

We werent as famous as u ladies but it is an expierience I will always treasure> The first time someone after a show asked me for my autograph I was speechless and humble> I was just  one of three keyboardists in the band  not anyone special. It was an awsome time to be on the road.

Listening to u ladies made think about those days.

I did a few commercials and studio work> Remember the Hit Factory  and Quad  and Battery/ Tom Lorde Alge

and those Flying V Foucusrite Consoles. I loved the analog stuff but Im no slouch with Pro Tools either>

Man those were the days. Keyboard rigs were awsome and there were no sequencers. u had to have skills

in y opionion the level of musicianship was on a higher level> I love technology but it is a blessing and a curse

Now u press one button and it does it for u  humbug> Lets bring those Moogs and Oberheims back

Everything is sampled now but i still likr the feel of an anologue. Its like a good woman.

Im glad u ladies stayed in the game. unlike u i got bored and frustrated with the direction the music industry was going in in th early ninties. im classically trained as well/ I went to music and Art high school  did two years college

dropped out and joined a band. Finally mid ninties i walked away. As u ladies know thus can be a nasty biz. I was doin remixes  did Big daddy kanes album  got no credit for my work  got paid very well  then did some independent film scoreing. that was the most rewarding. i stopped writing and playing  until recently. Listening to u ladies has inspred me to start writing again.

Just want to say thanks for being around and do

ing great stuff I really lik your body of work> and for being an inspiration. I still have alot to say. When I put my album together I will let u hear a cut or two. hope u will like my stuff. Would luv to jam with u just to say i did

I get out to your neck of the wods every so often. I believe in kharma. We will see how it goes.

Gonna ck out u r radio thang. Sounds really cool

U r the best  I swear  theres hope fo r us all

it aint over yet  its  a  new chapter that has been waiting for me to emerge

Music is everything  its time to wake up
