OK... I'll admit it... reluctantly. I'm in LOVE with my iPhone! I listen to music, take pictures, Twitter, Facebook, play games, check movie times, sports scores, and the latest news ALL on one device! I am also very fond of my Amazon Kindle. Basically, I am a gadget freak! If it uses a charger, most likely, I will love it! I suck at video games, so I am not a big gamer :(

I hate to buck the iPhone trend here, but I love my Blackberry Storm. My sister is a gadget freak and loved hers so she talked me into it. I barely used my old cell phone, but I think I'd have a panic attack if I was separated from my Storm. Facebook, Twitter, camera, games, it's all there, and it's love. :) I use it for Pandora radio, too, which is great, but I still use my iPod for most of my music. I have so many songs that it would overwhelm any phone (at current GBs anyway), so I find it easier to keep it separate. I'm also a completist, so it bothers me to put only part of my music on the phone to make it fit. I know I'm not likely to listen to Christmas music in June, but...what if? LOL

As for other electronics, I love my cheap, tiny ASUS netbook. Great for tending to the Internets while watching TV, etc. I also love my PS3. I like first-person shooters (can't wait for the new Call of Duty in Nov!), RockBand, Guitar Hero and some racing games. My dog, Eleanor, loves the PS3 controller. I have to hide it from her or she puts it in her bed and licks it. :) Nothing like trying to snipe at some 14-year-old online with a slobber covered controller! Unpleasant.

I love my fingerworks keyboard! (It's a typing keyboard)  There are testimonials from musicians who swear by it, and claim it has significantly reduced any carpal tunnel they may have been experiencing.

The keyboard is completly flat with 8 small bumps indicating the home row position.  It's has an integrated mouse built into it, and you can create and map "gestures".  For example if you want to cut and past you could pull you right middle finger and thumb together to cut, and then expand the same fingers to paste.  That is just the start.  You can grab and snap windows together using an "X-winder" feature.  (Kind of like the movie "Minority Report, when Tom Cruise was moving things on the screen with his hands)

There is a bit of a learning curve because there is no tactile feedback and you have to use a very light touch when typing, but the 6 week learning curve was worth it.

This gaget has an interesting history.  The rumor on the street is two guys developed the "fingerworks" technology as a thesis paper for MIT.  They built the keyboard in a basement.  (I guess one of them was still living at home).  They then sold the rights of the technology to Apple.  So over the past couple years Apple has slowly been integrating this technology into their products.  This technoloy can be seen in the iPhone, and I suspect the low profile keyboards are getting people adapted to reduced tactile feedback so Apple can possibly move to a completly flat surface.

The sad thing for me is, this keyboard is no longer being made, so it if breaks I am up a creek without a paddle.  If you're lucky you may be able to get chips from China.

I love this device so much that the day it was announce Fingerworks is no longer in business these keyboards were selling for $800.00 on e-bay.  Sure I could have made a quick buck, but I am too addicted to it.  There are some things not worth selling.

http://www.fingerworks.com/

Happy typing!

Too poor & living in arse end in of nowhere, so not much going on in tech dept, but watched "King of Kong" the other day and made me wish I'd kept my original nintendo handhelds from 1982 - Parachute & Donkey Kong - otherwise I make do with cellphone, ipod & buddha machine. Jonesing for a Aspire One netbook...

Let's see...i'd say my Tivo is my favorite gadget, does that count?

Im always looking into the latest and greatest cellphones. Im a huge fan of Gizmodo.com, CNET.com,Phonescoop.com...etc, etc, etc. I am a news junkie @ heart and use my cell phone to read anything from CNN.com to LAtimes.com. On a lighter tip, i collect anything Sorcerer Mickey (from the Original Fantasia). I just love him! Oh yea....and Hallmark Ornaments. I have the 1st StarTrek (USS Enterprise) ornament issued in the 90's. Dont ask me how much i want for it cuz its not for sale..lololol And finally...1 desktop, 2 laptops, flat screen w surround sound and my ipod.....Shhheeesh i have too much crap!

Hey Jedison, too bad you don't have a 360 or maybe you do, but you didn't mention it.  If you did we could play together my tag name is the same as my twitter name.

I too love 1st person shooters too.  I also love guitar hero.   I'd like to get Rock Band, but I really have no place for the drums.  I really don't play on line much anymore because I got tired of all the homophobic trash talk from people.  I would love to play on line again, but with a selected peeps.

As far as PS2 games go.  I love Katamari Damacy.  That king has quite a package. I'm surprised that game isn't rated "M" for Mature.  If I were a child I may be tramatized by him, and his horrible comments.   Of course I have GH for PS2 as well.  I also like Lego Star Wars, and Resident Evil 4.

Since I've moved I haven't gamed yet.

I'll have to check out Lara Croft for PSP.  The last time I played that francise was on the PS1, and it was always fun trying to get her into compromising positions.

Maybe we can get W&L back in the gaming mode, and we could have a game night...Wii Bowling with Girl Bros!

Happy gaming!

Suejester,

I would love a game bowling night on Wii sports especially with Girl Bros. My daughter has the sports package on Wii and I have been practicing but unfortunately bowling for real I SUCK! That would be so neat if Wendy and Lisa (with their wives) could join in the fun?

We would all have fun and yeah you know :P

Lisa would have to bowl with us not MC either :P

Anywho have a good one all

No worries about skill sets..It would just be a hoot.  I have not been on my wii for quite sometime, i'm sure I have some updates which are needed...

Could you imagine though, a GBN game night? Lisa pulling out Shecky when Wendy is trying to be all serious.  Wendy dropping f-bombs, Renata playing referee..ah I can hear it all now...

Take care!

@ JedisonPi

You only have 1 star trek ornament??!! (My whole xmas tree is star trek, hee hee)

ok, I'm not a techy person. I'm total old school. I just got rid of my portable cd player. What I really really am looking at for a new toy is an 120g Ipod touch. Do you know how exicted I got when I found out that you can put 30,000 songs on that?! My god.

Problem is I break everything that I have, cell phone-broke, newish Ipod- broke, laptop-will probably break soon...

I'm not a huge gamer, but LOVE LOVE LOVE guitar hero. (I can rock it out!)  I just like my non-technical books.  :)

I'll have to drag out and dust off the old Super Nintendo and see what I've got for games.  It was going out of style when I bought it years ago so there were lots of games that were cheap so I went for it.  I used to enjoy Castlevania, The Legend of Zelda which could take days upon days upon hours to play but fun no doubt.  Tetris is a fun one too.  The role playing game ones were fun at one time in my life but don't have the time or the patience for those these days.  Racing videos also are cool.  Love those.  I do understand why guitar players make faces when there playing guitar though.  No, i don't play a real one but sometimes it's hard to hit those buttons just right on Guitar Hero and I find myself making the scrunchy face.  :)  Oh, and by the way, I'm on Twitter but don't have text but you probably already figured that out.  Have a nice weekend dames.  :)

This thread hasn't been updated in a while, but I'm feeling particularly nerdy tonight. I have a Hp special edition dv4 that I'm in love with. I bought it with all of the bells and whistles so it never gets old. Other than that I actually have a Zune, you know that music player that is like an iPod? Haha. I'm a true PC person through and through.

I've also got a ps2 that I play rockband and guitar hero on. I used to be big into gaming, but I just don't have time for it anymore.

Bioshock 2! The first is the end result, in my humble opinion, of where video games have been heading. Such a beautiful, atmospheric work. The way in which the sound design fundamentally altered the experience was a revelation. Taking the more than solid basic gameplay and turning a fairly simple firefight into something terrifying through atmosphere, stunning visuals, voice work and scoring is something which most reviews and critics of the game fail to mention. I'm sure Bioshock 2 won't deliver the same revelatory moments but I do think that it will be a beautiful display of 2K's sizeable talent.

I have a PS1, PS2, N64, and (finally) a REAL dvd player, instead of my ps2, which is so  moody, that if a dvd in my playstation is thinking about a dvd on the other side of the planet which has a piece of dust on its surface, the wretched console will assume you have just shoved in a dvd-sized stack of pancakes (with syrup), and act accordingly.

I also have a DS, which I havent played in ages. (Got kinda bored with animal crossing, and I never finished ancient magic or trauma center.)

I haven't  been able to afford any of the new consoles (I normally wait a few years.) As a result, I've been revisiting a lot of my old games. (most of them from the PS1) FF9, persona 2, Alundra, harvest moon, a wee bit of motor toon grand prix.

My regression has now de-volved to the point that I am on my N64, and am in the middle of replaying Zelda: Majora's Mask. My fiancee has now also gotten herself snagged playing another game of Zelda OoT for the millionth time, since she has yet to catch the Hyrule Loach, and we don't have twilight princess yet. (her dad won a wii at a raffle)

As for the iPhone, well, no... I refuse to own one of those. However, it's a super fun platform to design games for. Since it has such teeny tiny pixels, you get a full 640X480 on that fancy credit card of a phone.

Speaking of cell phones, I use mine as my mp3 player. Much cheaper than an iPod.
