What are they saying in that song?

All of us have experienced it at one time or another.  Does anyone have a lyric that they were positive they were saying one thing and it turns out you read the words and it's not even close.  For example, I used to think that Paul McCartney and Wings were saying Stand on The Rug instead of "Band On The Run"  Talk amongst yourselves.  :)

My mom, with her sweet spirit, thought Prince was singing Count your blessings, instead of Controversy.  Even after all of these years, the family still has a good laugh whenever we hear it.  :)

Funny that you would mention Prince's "Controversy".  Believe it or not, my mom loved the song when she heard it, but thought he was saying "Touch your pussy".  I know, I know.  My mom is pretty cool like that.

I thought he was saying Count your pussy.  My father also thought that the Bee Gees was "Buck in the Knee" instead of "Tragedy".  Don't ask.  I don't understand it either.  LOL!

I have a few misunderstood lyrics.

In the 10CC song, "I'm Not in Love" when the woman whispers, "big boys don't cry" I always thought she was saying, "Be poised and quiet."

My niece thought that Gary Puckett and the Union Gap was singing, "Have you got chili on your mind" insted of "Have you got cheating on your mind."

And my brother thought the song, "Two Silhouettes on the Shade" was "To Sue, It's on the Shed."

This is a fun topic.  Thanks for adding it.

For the longest time, I was not quite sure what they were saying in that 10CC song.  That's funny about your niece and the Union Gap!  :)  My cousin used to think that the Muppet Theme said "It's time to put on makup, it's time to fertilize." instead of "It's time to put on makeup it's time to dress up right".  Another one, no idea why?  LOL!

For the longest time my friend Diana would sing "voices scare me" to 'Til Tuesdays " Voices carry" To this day whenever we hear that song we all start cracking up, and she calls us all B*****s, and laughs.

I didn't even remember till this week (of course) but when we were in middle school, my friends and I always thought that Michael Jackson was singing "Jessie had a breakdown!" in "You Gotta Be Startin' Something" . . .

Hahahahahaha....I love this post. Off the top of my head, I thought that "Viste" was "Bee sting". Even now I have to stop myself from singing the wrong words :D
