Hey Wendy & Lisa,

 

Thanks for the opportunity to ask these. Sorry if they lack originality - esp question 5.

 

1. What do you think of the current state of play of the music industry? The rise of digital downloads (especially singles) is it killing off the album experience? 

2. When composing is it a lyric or a melody that triggers your compositions first? 

3. what song have you heard and thought "damn, wish we wrote that?" (oh and it can be one you actually did but didn't get credit for ) 

4. Does it ever blow your mind that your music and artistry can touch so many, from so many different places? (Sydney, Australia here) 

5. Do you ever tire of people asking "Is the water still warm enough?"

1. The music industry is alive and well and being given back to the musicians. there is a natural transplant shock in play. maybe vitamin B will help.

2. Compositions are not really triggered but caressed. however sometimes they have to be chased down and captured, then hit over the head with a frying pan. . . coercion  is key.  but then... it is usually the melody.

3. ummm....... wait........ no........... uhhh maybe . .     .      um . .    idunno . . .  i'll ask Wendy.

Thank you for your generosity in taking the time to answer these. A small act that meant a lot. I liked what you mentioned about the music industry being given back to the musicians, hopefully it will be less industry and more inspiretry. (yeah i know it's not a real word but i'm a writer, I'm allowed to create words and birth them into the lexicon, lol)

I can answer one...

I think Purple Rain was a song i wish we could have gotten credit for helping write.
