Something I'm curious about...do you either of you girls have a favorite instrument?
And on a related note, Wendy, do you still have/play that purple Rickenbacker used in the movie of Purple Rain?

Hi there...
I was wondering if you guys have ever played a didgeridoo and if so if you ever got a tone out it?
I've been buzzing my lips until they became numb...no tone just farty noises.

No doubt...I'm curious about the Rick myself...Wendy has some great instruments-or at the very least access to great instruments...Wendy I love the presence you have with the Longhorn bass you used on Austin City Limits with Doyle:)

It has been shared that the Purple Rick was stolen out of a van during the Eroica period... I think that is pretty crappy... So if you see someone with a purple rick tackle that person and return that guitar to its rightful owner...

yes the purple rick was stolen! so sad. we still miss it. it was not only sentimental, but ut was a great guitar!
me and wendy are so lucky though, to have about ten thousand instruments sitting around and filling up every available space in our studio. the room is small to begin with, and we have had to hang things from the walls and use trunks of percussion instruments as tables to put flutes and harmonicas on...... people in the other room on sessions are always coming up to borrow things.... " you guys have a cowbell? triangle? mouth harp? ebow? hurdy gurdy? banjo? vibraslap? oud? boudran? electric mandolin? waterphone?.....and so on.....and thats just one table top.
it is HEAVENLY ! ! ! ♡♩♫

A little birdie told me that you have a wurly. Freakin love those things. I saw you playing it, actually, in a rehearsal video from ages ago.
Has it ever broken? I've heard that repairs and parts can be difficult to find. But that was on a wikipedia article from years ago, and we all know that nothing on the interwebs is true.
However, it still concerns me, because I have yet to hear anything that comes close to its sound, so I certainly don't want these organs to die out one by one.

See, that sounds awesome. But at the same time, the fact that there is a musical instrument called a "vibraslap" makes me giggle.
Because I am, in fact, 8.

about 15 yrs or so ago,
we were rehearsing for the EROICA tour.
Our tour manager loaded some gear into his trunk and left his car open
and walked back into the room to grab more shit.
WELL!!!!!!! some ass stole all the gear... MY 2 PURPLE RICK's...
I've never gotten over it.
When Prince fired me and LIsa all we left with were my 2 ricks, an amp.
Lisa got her Matrix 12 and her obsx..
BOOOSH!
And a swift kick in the ass!!

That is such a bummer when things like that get stolen & the worst is you would gladly pay some $$$$ to get it back as they mean so mcuh to you .....
I wouls be curious to know what that whie guitar is as well , it looks like some sort of custom 335 style guitar (gibson) .
