White Flags Of Winter Chimneys, the Joni connection.
Hey Lisa, Hi Wendy.
Just a quick question about the newest album, which is just gorgeous, an instant grabber and a slow grower, it's a keeper for a long time, I keep hearing new sounds, nuances, lyrics in every listen, and I guess this leads into my question.
In the first press release for WFOWC I think you mentioned something about the origins of the album title and a little of what that signified for the record, about it having lyrical and emotional depth, very much in a Joni Mitchell narrative style, like Hejira, which is a stunning album with a tight cohesive flow and adventurous arrangements.
For such an obvious reference point as the albums title is, I've not heard much about what Hejira means to you, why did you choose that particular line, did you mean to capture some of that feeling of movement that Hejira as an album has, of mature restlessness, or was it just a pretty line from a great album?
I'd like to hear a little more about the inspiration this album had for WFOWC, and the significance (if any) of that line.
Has Joni always been an influence?
For Chalk Mark In A Rain Storm, was that something you wanted to be involved in or did Joni get in contact with you?
By the way Lisa, I thought the line from Power Fantastic was "Isn't your life elastic", so it seems I keep good company in that regards.
