why are so " discrete"

Salut,

EB

Maybe a little translation in English (from one lingua franca to another) might me helpful: so here it goes:

Hello,

(I am) a frenchman from France who lives in Canada:

Thank you for your wonderful new album. Many, many thanks.

W&L fans are often Prince fans, but W&L albums disappoint less frequently. (Fenna49: Ermmm; I totally agree with him on this one:-)

His question: since you are musicians we know and you produce such lovely music, and you are now totally independant in terms of production; why did you keep us waiting so long?

Thank you for your music (Fenna 49: no, not like in the Abba song), thank you for being here.

I want to hear you more often.

EB

Fenna49: Well; EB; I understand the sentiment and it seems you finally got your wish:-)

aside from my obsession with cartoons (and those of you who watch DEXTER'S LAB know the Omlette du Fromage reference),

There are many reasons that it takes so long to produce an album of songs.

We are working as composers on television shows, and films, and that is how we are able to make a living.

Since we are not signed to a record label, we have to pay to expenses that are incurred by making an album. studio time, engineers, musicians, all cost money. we were able to make GIRL BROS when we had a studio at home, so that made things easier.

Aside from that MAJOR issue... wendy and i also had many things happen that made writing together , OR apart an emotional challenge. Not to get to depressing or personal, but ... i lost my brother a few years ago, and after having lost jonathan it was a huge and heavy blow to the both of us. i had to keep working on the job that i had so i could pay my bills, but it was an effort to drag my soul around for a long time.

at any rate.

it has been such a pleasant surprise to release this album and have SUCH a great response from all of you folks.  i don't know if We have EVER been so happy and touched by our fans, and our career as ''wendy and lisa''.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.

and...

again, omlette du fromage!

;)

love,

lisa

Congrats to whomever wins the bet on whether or not Julie will be able suppress the overwhelming urge to correct the incorrect grammar of « omlette du fromage » : it's « omelette au fromage » !

I don't care what Dexter's Lab says.

Who won the bet ?

Salut EB,

C'est bien de pouvoir discuter de W&L ici, n'est-ce pas? :)

That's always my first thought whenever someone says anything in French. I miss Cartoon Network making awesome shows like Dexter's Lab.

I loved Dexter's Lab its his sister that was annoying as well you know lol.

"GET OUT OF MY LAB BORA TORY DEEDEE" (tries to impersonate Dexter saying tht but fails) lol

YES! DEEDEE was a complete eyeball spinning loon! and in the episode featuring the regretfully incorrect and ever so hauntingly habit forming "OMELETTE DU FROMAGE" .......... ( I have been scolded o'plenty for the grammar being WRONG! it is "omelette AU fromage")....... DEEDEE is CAPTIVATING and just as hauntingly hooky with her , "Thats all you can saaaaay, thats all you can saaaaay" with the classic neener neener melody attached.

ahhhhh music to a cartoon lovers ears.

I totally want one of those helmets that plays you records so you can learn things during your sleep. I'd put on something insane like The Fall Of Troy and teach myself ridiculous math-rock guitar while I sleep!

And I never knew there was a small town in France called Omlette Du Fromage...
