GirlBros. 4 the Soul
I’m constantly blown away by the complexity and depth of Wendy and Lisa’s lyrics. Again and again they’re music has inspired me to get through the tough times and even, dare I say, become a better person. I was just wondering if it’s the same for anyone else?
I’ve listened to the self-titled disc maybe a million times and so in certain situations I can just hear the music automatically. Like if I’m in an emotional battle, I can just hear Lisa singing ‘Chance to Grow’ in my head-
“Hold me up
Don't bring me down
Take all the room
To build this love
Don't build it up
To tear it down
You plant the seed
In love you've found
That everybody needs
A chance to grow”
And that’s a very good paradigm to base your relationships on, I think. I’m so grateful for that!
So I was just wondering if anyone else has been touched by Wendy and Lisa’s lyrics like I have.
Much LOVE,
Jen

Hello Jen,
For me that would be: 'Valley Vista' and 'The Life'. W&L are true 'soulsisters' they always knit a soothing, spiritual, soothing pattern in their musical tapestry. So cool, authentic, honest...
Love back at ya (all)!

Hey Jen!
Glad to see someone else has found that song of use over the years!
"when there's no communication, then we fall by the wayside"
wise words indeed, although my favourite couplet was always...
"when you tell me you love me, no need to go put yourself above me"

Not Chance to Grow in particular, but there are songs that do that for me.
Jonathan- said everything I couldn't say but wanted to after my friend was killed. I remember sitting on my bed the next day listening and thought "holy s*%t!" It was as if the song was written for me to hear at that very moment. As cheesy as it sounds, I felt like 'its all going to be ok.'
I also like to hear Don't look down when I'm pissed.
and I have Honeymoon Express days. (Start laughing, now) It has to be really sunny, about 65-70 degrees, light blowing wind..usually in the spring or fall. if all of those componets are in place, I NEED to hear that song. It sounds better on days like that.

Oh my goodness. Well......Staring at the Sun is inspiring. "Staring at the sun I see a brighter day". :) "Skeleton Key" makes you wanna dance. All of the lyrics to "The Life" have been poingnant in parts of my life. Sorry, but I couldn't listen to the Girl Bros. album for the longest time. My uncle passed away about a year and a half ago and those songs hit a little too close to home. All of the emotions that happens to someone when that happens. I did finally listen to it though and it's all good now, sort of.
