Hmmmm. I'm wondering if you collaborated with Kate Bush.
I happened upon a few tracks she did called "Running Up that Hill", "Babooshka" and "Wuthering Heights". I hadn't heard those songs in ages and ages. You may not know her at all but I'm curious none the less. Thanks :}

Wendy & Lisa & Kate..........that would be amazing. I don't think it's ever happened yet, sadly. A Bjork collaboration wouldn't go amiss either.
And with regards to KB, do yourself a favour and get a copy of the Hounds Of Love album. Seriously.

Hounds Of Love eh? Sounds like a winner to me. Thanks for the heads up.

I appreciate the info and will definitely check her out. I've always loved Pink Floyd but had no idea that David Gilmour helped her out. You just never know in the music business do you? Thanks again and don't you just love how Wendy and Lisa are accessible to us? When they have the time of course.
I got to the Wendy and Lisa party a tad too late in my life I'm afraid but thanks to the internet I'm blessed with their extraordinary talents. I remember hearing Waterfall when it first came out and I loved it but I lost touch with them after that. My musical tastes evolved with age and it's refreshing to hear them now and how their music has progressed. I've always been hooked by movie and show scores. I appreciate the pure instrumental side of music so when I heard they were scoring I felt like a kid in a candy store. I could babble on and on but I have to go to work lol. Thanks again for the reply.

hiya munchkin,
Yes its fab how the gorgeous gals actually look at the forum, even read our thoughts let alone respond!!!! its great how they are real busy, luv nurse jackie and heroes, havent seen mercy yet though, not on uk tv yet.
Their music has changed, got even better i think. i did go on the girl bros web site years ago, but never purchased the cd, i got both white flags and girl bros and was genuinely blown away by them. it does make me cross how they arent world wide famous cos the quality of the music is just at the top, but they have been such role models to me in so many ways, ever since the revolution days... wish i cud see them live, but not much of a chance being over in the uk... you're in the us arent you....so the chances for yourself are a lot greater!!!!
i luv film scores too and they are so lush instrumentally.....
nice talkin

You're absolutely correct, they should be famous but then I'm afraid we'd all lose that intimate side of themselves that they share so willingly with us. It wouldn't be their fault but big business is big business and everyone would want a piece of them as I'm sure you'd understand. They would also have a hard time laying down material near and dear to their heart and soul. I'm sure there are quite a few corporate males out there who still want the Prince version of Wendy and Lisa. I'm so glad they are above and beyond all of that. Blessed are we for the direction they took even though it took years and most likely lots of tears and frustration to finally say, Hey we did it our way and we're never looking back. You just gotta love that.

hey munch,
They certainly did, and are, doing it their way....they have had many battles to fight and thats why i take my hat off to them, women in rock are always fighting stereotypes and pigeon holing and they followed the beat of their own drum...and drum machine.....i just hope that the money still rolls in like it should, cos people with a fraction of their talent seem to earn millions for nothing...
i have been watching american idol over here in the uk... we are in the hollywood stages, the gorg ellen degeneres is now on the panel...what is so heartwarming is the fact that there are a lot of women singer/songwriter/guitarists that are blowing everybody away...i know that these shows are affecting how bands/artists are signed, but it is fantastic that these ladies are showing how multitalented and kickass they can be....
my fave film scorers are john barry, jerry goldsmith, vangelis, bernard herrman...to name but a few..who are yours???
nice talkin

Ahhhh, film scorers. It's awful to say but I don't know the names of everyone but here are a couple I know for sure: Tangerine Dream, Georgio Moroder, Mike Oldfield. Danny Elfman. I'm not sure who scored the following films but maybe you might know: Legends of the Fall. Last of the Mohicans, Alien, Hamburger Hill. I can't think of them all. Oh I do have to mention Donnie Darko because there is an incredible song that blows me away every time I hear it; 'For Whom the Bell Tolls', by Steve Baker and Carmen Daye. If you've never heard it before, look it up on You Tube and tell me what you think. Now that I think of it, I love the whole Donnie Darko soundtrack. I'm not sure if Yanni scored anything but I guarantee it would be fantastic. I can't say this counts for scoring because it's a live show but I absolutely love Riverdance.
When i was young, I really got into classic rock but I preferred the songs that never got alot of radio play. The greatest song Aerosmith ever did was "Seasons of Wither". I also listened to YES, PINK FLOYD, ALAN PARSONS PROJECT. Some would call that psychedelic music but it got my creative juices flowing. If I had money when i was young, I'd have bought a synthesizer and played the hell out of it. I ended up playing trombone all through school. I've always appreciated music and how it all comes together. As I got older my tastes grew with me. Someone turned me on to Laurie Anderson and boy that took me to another dimension. Ray Lynch and Kitaro are also fabulous.
It's great talking with you too by the way, kindred musical souls :)

P.S. Do you find yourself playing White Flags of Winter Chimney over and over because you hear something different every time? It's such an intimate and personal journey that it touches me emotionally. I feel like I'm experiencing the pain of their break-up, deep stuff. I can only imagine how it felt for the two of them to hear it when it was completely finished, have it wash over them and truly sink in. I'd have been crying my poor eyes out. lolol It took more than I could possibly imagine to let go and come back as friends and business partners. I know because I went through it myself.
