Hey Kat. How long before the crew from your old GirlBros website resurface here? I well remember stumbling onto your site back in 1998 and finding that GirlBros was soon to be released! Without that, I don't know how long it would have been until I'd heard about what W&L were up to.
Most of us are here already....the faithful ones anyway. Even a couple who were too busy for us anymore...lol Right ickynicy and akiiki? Oh and some were hiding away in the jungles of Uganda...Pretty soon its going to be as cool Mirc....Welcome Back Matt! btw I used to go by brave1 on Mirc and some others..girlbro on p.org
Thanx for the information. I've just pre-ordered my copy of the forthcoming soundtrack album which is said to be released on 21th April (guess what: 2009!). Can't wait to listen to the new tracks even though I'm not too much into the TV series (no time for TV). By the way, I bought a dvd recently with Wendy as the leading "scoring" musician, the film's title is "Cavedweller", it's a film directed by Lisa Cholodenko. I am going to watch the movie in my upcoming Easter vacations.

Bonjour à tous ....
Kat, Matt(uk)... I suppose I had to appear.
How long has it been since the first get together ?? :p
Happy to see you around...
and happy that the girls have released their new album.. I just wish they could remember the old continent sometimes :p we eat snails but also listen to musics, ladies !!!
Does anyone know anything about the NYC radio event which took place earlier this year? Will there be a new release of the radio play "The Fall of the City" by Archibald MacLeish? Or will there be a podcast on the net which one can purchase? Of course I am interested in listening to the whole play and of course it would be more than a pleasure to have wendy and lisa's score going along with that. :-)
unfortunately, The McCleish family did not want the Broadcast to be made available via PODCAST.
I would check at WNYC's website to see if it is available at all. It aired last month on MAY 4th and was very well received not to mention a pretty great re-imagining of the play.
Wendy and I enjoyed the whole experience.
We will make available whatever we can, but it may be limited to a few unused cues due to legal factors.
Thank you for your interest. FALL OF THE CITY is a truly historic and worthwhile work.
Just caught up with two pre air episodes of Nurse Jackie , fantastic scoring and love the opening and closing theme . Even my beloved said it was unmistakably ( is that even a word , maybe I spelt it wrong , it doesnt look right ) Wendy and Lisa

Just received "Heroes" cd from amazon (better late than never) - the soundtrack is enough to make my heart melt, *sigh*. No moving images to distract from these little masterpieces. You guys are BRILL!!! :-)
Oops, obviously forgot to login and typed the wrong name instead - Fanatic142 referring to my first (wind)surfboard, not my state of mind! Stupid me. Didn't intend to make that comment anonymously.
I was watching Nurse Jackie last week - the "Tiny Bubbles" episode.
I can't stop playing the closing song - found the credits and discovered WHO wrote the music. In the process I discovered Wendy and Lisa's music!
I would dearly love to know if ever the song will be released as a track on a future album. I realize it may be distributed only by potential DVD format of the series.

Every time I hear the Nurse Jackie opening credits theme I get goose bumps. It reminds me a lot of "Light", the last track on your debut album. I can't wait for season 2!!! And is Edie Falco just made of talent? That woman is amazing!!
that piece is amazing, isn't it. at first it was just a cello piece which lisa wrote, but eventually evolved to have score play along with it. i have watched that scene over and over just for that too. not sure if we can post the piece here since there are copyright issues...but i did notice it uploaded on YouTube already.

Hey Lisa/Wendy
I was curious as to if you knew the song used in the NBC Mercy promo. Not the long version with NeedToBreathe, but the promo with the piano playing in the background.
hi all.... please check out the new COMPOSERS section here on the site. also, i've been compiling a new playlist over on the http://youtube.com/girlbros channel to include film and tv work. some cool things there already.
There are also cool score samples in the Composers section! Make sure to check them out! It would be nice if the world worked perfectly and Wendy & Lisa could do a 'best of' score CD with score from ALL of the shows that they have worked on! However, I know that the world isn't perfect and includes too many lawyers & uncooperating TV/Music heads :(
Are there still potential plans afoot to sell the Heroes (and maybe Nurse Jackie) scores from the website, potentially signed by Ms Melvoin and Ms Coleman?

There's a sweet little blurb about the upcoming "Heroes" score on SoundtrackGeek.com
http://soundtrackgeek.com/2009/03/15/heroes-original-television-score-is-coming/
Have I mentioned how WONDERFUL it is to have someplace to post these little updates?

A truly special piece of music.
