W&L DVD Collection - Let's DO it guys! :-)

Hello all.

 

This has been posted in another thread, but thought we could start a new one here as the old thread got very long and a tad confusing!

Let's get this DVD collection for the fans (and for W&L of course) off the ground!

I have good quailty copies of Satisfaction, Are You My Baby, Honeymoon Express, Waterfall and a few remixed vids.

Someone mentioned they have original promo tapes? Be great to get copies to work with.

I have made various fan-made DVD compilations for various bands such as Sunscreem & Dubstar. Who I worked with in comiling them.

I use Roxio to make the DVDs, proper animated menus, music, galleries extra features for live footage etc etc.

I have an 'Ok' version of Strung Out.  The best copies of the vids are the ones available on iTunes: Are You My Baby, Honeymoon Express, and Waterfall.  I'm amazed that iTunes hasn't put out Satisfaction yet.  Other than that, it sounds like we have the same videos.  However, good copies of their videos (all in one place) would be great!

if there is a dvd i wud buy it, they hav contributed so much, aside from being such brill role models, there is so much great stuff on you tube, recently saw one of the gorg girls in sum hotel in europe with wendy showing the cameras around, must have been circa 89, wud be great to hav an official dvd of this stuff.........they shud cum to the uk, we wud luv to see the girls live and they cud promote heroes, nurse jackie,et al.

Just found this thread.

I transferred to DVD-R a Strung Out Promo VHS from Virgin Records I had, I can send a copy out as my contribution to this if you like!

I used a direct from S-VHS HiFi VCR to SONY DVD-R recorder deck. Sound fantastic and looks great!

I placed it with just another video onto the disc so its at its best visual and audio quality, in other words, it doesn't have any compression artifacts and its recorded at SP or the best quality.

So, who do I send a copy to for this project?

Also, another question for Wendy and or Lisa - is it difficult to create a DVD for commercial release that has all your official videos from your solo work? I'd love to see this happen, but is getting rights a bit tedious? Or are video masters lost?

hi gary,

it is entirely in the hands of the record labels who own them. they own the rights as well as the masters to the original albums. getting rights is not only tedious, it requires hiring a lawyer for a lot of money to handle the negotiations, then you only probably are licensing the works. after all that, i am sad to report, we would be losing money. only a handful of people are interested in having a collection. however, it appears that many have found a work-around right here at this forum!
